CCBRN Funding
:
Funding from the Colorado Community
Based Research Network (CCBRN) comes from a variety of sources.
The
Bonner Foundation, Princeton, NJ, was instrumental in developing
a national network of higher education institutions committed
to doing CBR. The foundation, under the direction of Vice President
Bobby Hackett, supported the University of Denver's CBR efforts
from 1997-2003 and enabled us to provide research projects for
little or no cost to community partners. Bobby was also a key
figure in helping us develop a vision for the CCBRN.
CBR projects have also been supported
by the Piton Foundation,
the Daniels
Fund, Denver
Public Schools, Colorado
Campus Compact, the University
of Pennsylvania, the University of Denver's Public Good Fund, and Making-Connections Denver as well as other local donors. In addition,
the Center
for Service Learning and Civic Engagement at DU continues
to provide financial support for community-based research in the
Denver area.
The CCBRN actively seeks financial
support from local and national funders. Grants and contracts
enable faculty, staff, and students from universities in the Denver
area to collaborate with community partners on CBR projects for
little or no charge. For information about funding needs please
