Each year, at least one Community-Based Research Internship is available funded by Federal Government Community Work Study. The stipend is up to $6,000. Past recipients have been Joni Weiner, James Meyer, Kevin Cloninger, Amy Engelman, and Morgan Earp. There are several responsibilities with this position:

 

 

1. Assist Dr. Nick Cutforth in identifying DU Faculty and students who are interested in undertaking community-based research in various capacities.

 

2. Work with community partners to define how community-based research can be incorporated into their social change agenda.

 

3. Identify other research universities that have developed relationships with community organizations to create community-based research institutes within the United States. This includes researching best practices through data information and interviewing key figures involved in developments these research institutions.

 

4. Identify local, state, and national funding sources that have funded similar projects such as a community-based research institute. This includes researching best practices through data information and interviewing key figures involved in funding community based-research institutes.

 

5. Maintain CCBRN website and attend College of Education Community Engagement Committee meetings.

 

6. Other duties as assigned.
